[Miyabigaoka] Takeuchi Manor

Shoichi wasn't exactly expecting visitors to his room; nor did he expect anyone to know he had come home without him first wandering around the building. As such, when there was a knock at his door, he came to the conclusion that Usagi had gone through some effort to seek out his heartbeat, or something of the sort. At some point, he had allowed the cigarette he entered with to stop burning, and it had been recently lit anew by the time he responded to the knock. "Door's open," he said, making no efforts to move away from his bed, and keeping his gaze cast on the television across the room.

There was a moment in which the girl would have breathed a sigh of relief, but it wasn't there. Instead she was more than a little stunned to find that the Sky King was actually in his room. 'Fuck!' this was the only thought in the girls' head, because though she wanted to talk with Shoichi and find out what was bothering him, she didn't expect to actually have to do it right at the moment. She realized something about this interaction made her nervous of the outcome and it was a strange thing to feel. She immediately thought of running for her room and pretending she knew nothing of this thing she just did, because she couldn't rationalize this new found fear. She realized she'd been far too quiet in this moment and decided it was simply something she had to do now, because she was afraid. "Hai!" and with that she stepped inside of the boy's room closing the door behind her. She stood very still for a few seconds her eyes flickering around the room and to the TV but then back to Shoichi. This all felt really strange to her and she wasn't certain where to begin.

Following his response, there was an unusual amount of silence on the other side of the door. This caused Shoichi's attention to divert from the TV, which happened just in time for him to both hear and see the Storm Queen entering his bedroom. "... Yo," he said in a lackadaisical fashion as his gaze returned to its original focus, and he ashed the cigarette he'd been smoking into a mason jar off the left side of the bed.

The Storm Queen was now standing in the Sky King's room watching as he put out a cigarette which seemed familiar to her, and she recognized as being the brand favored by the Water Queen. With that thought somewhere tucked away in her head, she wondered how much of the influence of personalities of their older selves had on them, but she supposed now wasn't the time for that question. She stood in silence for approximately three seconds before the question of the day kind of fell out of her mouth. She couldn't help this occurance she simply needed to know and understand things from the Sky King's perspective. "Shoichi, why are you mad at me?"

"Huuu~" Shoichi exhaled the final puff of smoke while awaiting whatever Chiyo had come for. Thankfully, this didn't take as long as it had taken for her to enter the room after being given clearance, but the question she chose to ask was one that seemed to pick at a nerve of some sort, causing the Sky King to immediately glance in her direction through the corner of his eye. "What makes you think I'm mad at you?"

"That." she said gesturing towards him as he was now. "The way you just looked at me. Fucking earlier flash of Brain Charger-ness, uh... being short with me. Rampaging on the Raidraptors. Hiding out in here... I didn't actually expect to find you in here, I was a bit shocked." she said thinking about it. The Storm Queen preferred to pace during times of high stress like this, but she couldn't instead her left foot was left to soundlessly bounce against the carpet as a replacement habit for her usual nervous tick. "Normally shit just kind of blows over when one or both of us is mad. But I realized I never actually find out why you're mad at any given point. So, why?" the Storm Queen's speech had fallen back into an old pattern, like she was trying very hard to maintain whatever she could in her head to keep the anxiety of this moment from overwhelming her because she really needed to know this information to keep further misunderstandings between herself and the Sky King to an absolute minimum.

"I do Brain Charger shit all the time; I've got no control over that. I didn't rampage the Raidraptors; I went to see what they were made of. And... hiding out... in my room? I kinda live here, y'know?" he said, delivering his retort to each clause. And, to his credit, all of these things were true. While yawning, Shoichi closed his eyes and relaxed more into the pillows beneath him, slipping his hands back into place beneath his head. "I'm not mad. There. Are we done with the awkward questions now?"

Chiyo looked at the Sky King and fought the desire to fall into a rage because it was easier than dealing with what was going on in front of her. And it seemed that the Sky King had a retort for all things mentioned, and while it was true he probably did all of those things for exactly the reasons mentioned even beyond being obviously perturbed. He claimed not to be upset, but there was one more thing she thought of which hadn't been explained away yet and she'd mention it as she turned on her heel to leave, stopping the tapping of her leg as he did. "Sure, I'm done with the awkward questions. Totally made a blizzard in fucking July, with my ATs and covered the whole city in snow and ice, helped caused a thunder storm and contributed to a small scale earthquake. And my best friend in the whole world who is partly responsible for this, didn't want to contribute and left me all alone after flipping out on me and after giving up parts to making it happen. Even though he loves to see everything that happens from his place high in the sky that rest of us reach for. I know he saw it, but I'm totally imagining him being upset with me. Gotcha." and with that the girl reached for the door to head out of it, no one could say she didn't try to actually get to the bottom of this time, that she didn't notice that the young man was upset even if he didn't give a reason. She didn't much see the point in noticing all of the things she did, if none of it helped with the one person whose opinion actually mattered to her.

As Chiyo continued to speak, Shoichi opened his eyes long enough to dig a pocky stick out of the pocket of his overcoat. Once he'd done so, he placed it in his mouth and, instead of biting it, allowed its flavor to absorb into his tongue. When the Storm Queen's little tirade finally came to and end, and she made movements toward the door, Shoichi's eyes closed once again. "Baka. Don't be a fuckin' moron. I never said I wasn't upset; I said I wasn't mad at you. Learn the fuckin' difference, why don'tcha?"

Chiyo's hand had been on the door when the Sky King chose to speak again. She abandoned the quest to leave his presence as she tried to reason out the words he'd spoken. She frowned deeply as she rubbed the spot over the corner of her left eye with the corresponding fore and middle fingers to quell the twitch that was developing there. This twitch hinted at frustration that the young woman got when she was being impatient and thus was having a problem figuring something out which everyone else seemed to find simply. She turned around and her leg began tapping once again as she flicked her open eye over the Sky King where he lay in bed pocky in his mouth. "Fuck! Fine! No idea how I am supposed to understand that sort of subtlety when it's not built into who I am but... fuck it. I suppose I'll have to learn..." she stopped rubbing the corner of her eye as the twitching stopped. "What's wrong then?" she said softly. She really just wanted to know and contribute to making Shoichi feel better, it was his birthday after all and no one deserved to feel like shit on their birthday.
