Miko seemed relatively fine. Well, she was alive, not exploding immediately, and still conscious ─ that was fine enough. The strange thing was the sudden explosive growth and magical coloration of her hair, and what seemed to be a slight growth of her curves all within a few moments. She began whispering. Gojo stood erect, rested a finger along his cheek and tilted his head to the other side, observing with a hint of familiarity.
"Ho... that looks a little familiar. Yeah, I felt that once," he commented. The state she was in definitely counted as dangerous, but she'd survived the initial surge and would probably be fine throughout. Her complaints to the one called Brainface were none of Satoru's concern, but he did have an interest in her current development.
"Can you float? Doesn't matter. We're about to float," he stated. At the same time, the System offered Miko another notification... and a sudden alteration to something otherwise waiting in her Inventory.
〔SYSTEM NOTICE — RUNE EVOLUTION〕
Unknown Skill Rune: Resonance Detected.
Rune Stone has absorbed external mana overload from Gojo Satoru.
Structural threshold crossed.
Evolution triggered.
Rune Evolved: Mana Reversal
Description:
By channeling mana through perfect reversal flow, instantly convert received damage back into health and mana. Wounds seal, bones knit, mana circuits repair mid-combat. Passive low-level for minor injuries; active spike for catastrophic damage (mana cost scales with severity). Blue glow indicates activation.
Effect:
• Passive: Heal 20% max HP/min below 50% HP; ignore minor debuffs (bleed, poison < A-rank)
• Active: Restore 50-80% HP instantly (INT-scaled)
• Limitation: No fatal core wounds; overuse (3+ active) triggers Mana Backlash (-30% stats, 5 min)
System Remark:
The overload was the catalyst.
The rune was always waiting.
Use it well, Player. Chaos approves.
At the same time, Yugi was at the receiving end of a small tirade. Tae did realize he was slowing down; she had some excellent senses. Obviously slowing things down even a little wasn't the right approach, and in fact seemed to lead things in the wrong direction. Noted, Yugi thought.
"I can keep it going... but if you want me to even think about pulling out, you'll have to let me know," he warned, having no intention of doing so of his own volition. Either way, Yugi supposed he should keep listening to both the System and Tae. He reached down with one hand, aiming to lift her right leg until her foot escaped the water and landed atop the stone lining. Doing so had him stretching her insides even more from greater depth of penetration, but that was just the start. The true purpose came with him continuing to hold that thigh with his right arm, keeping leverage to slam her undercarriage in the most reckless way yet. Whenever he finished bitching at Miko for their lost Resonance earlier, he'd have to offer thanks for getting his rhythm adjusted; an increase to even greater speeds was managed masterfully by the lad.
