She wears a black cloak with an eagle eye mask to cover her face. When in battle, she wears the Izayoi hat, a Japanese-style military uniform, and black military boots. As the modified version of her Shihakusho. As a member of the Ikaruga Unit she is allowed several modifications to her uniform which set her apart from everyone else such as her balloon pants.

Combat Style:
Zanpakutō Maken Izayoi (魔剣 十六夜, Cursed Sword Sixteen Day Old Moon) A blade which has no sealed form to speak of, it seems to be constantly in a single state. Its general form is that of a book with a large eye, a short red blade which appears to have the form of the tip of a quill and a hat which also has a large eye upon it with wings flanking either side.
Shikai:
- Shikai Special Ability: Light Manipulation - Maken Izayoi is a cursed sword which absorbs waves of light to feed itself as alluded to by its name. When it does this periods of charging seem to be required by the blade and book shield itself but it is able to use that light to alter the forms of both the book and the quill into different lengths and types of weapon to be used by Tsubaki at various points. To her knowledge it cannot be released past this point but it has more flexibility than most weapons and as such is a force to be reckoned with. (This weapon can appear as the short sword, a fencing foil, a sword whip, a staff and a floating claymore). It comes with a rather interesting weakness as it also steals 'light' from its users in the form of their eyes. Everyone in her family who has used this weapon has gone blind by its use without ever having properly achieved Bankai. It is said that the one who achieves bankai will not suffer the blindness associated with the weapon and will thus break its curse.
