Powers & Abilities
- Water Manipulation: As the son of Poseidon, Athos has the ability to control potentially massive amounts of water on an incredible scale. He can cause torrents and tidal waves with little effort, but his control is not limited to the movement of water. His true potential with this power lies in his ability to interface with water; be it by healing himself or others with its touch, or by being able to live and breathe while submerged for indefinite periods of time.
- Earthquakes: A lesser power stemming from Poseidon's influence. With it, Athos is able to make the ground tremble, causing earthquakes in a confined space. These quakes can be made powerful enough to split the ground, but using this power seems to be very taxing for Athos.
- Gorgon's Gaze: Athos is cursed with being a half-gorgon due to Medusa herself being his birth mother. Because of this, his left eye holds Medusa's power to turn those which it views into stone. In spite of his demigod status, Athos has not gained control over this ability, and thus keeps his left eye sealed behind an eye patch.
- Venom: As the son of Medusa, and as a half-gorgon, Athos' nails and teeth produce a very potent neurotoxin at will. Its effect gains rapidity as Athos progresses through his gorgon states, eventually being able to affect even demigods as it once affected humans (in his fully transformed state). A side-effect of producing this sort of venomous substance is that Athos seems to be immune to most, if not all, toxins that attempt to enter his body.
- Gorgon Transformation: When his eye patch is removed, Athos takes his true form, which includes serpentine eyes, canine teeth more reminiscent of fangs, longer and sharper nails, and white snakes on his head in place of hair. In this state, his powers as a gorgon are equal to his demigod abilities. Since he is a demigod, however, Athos is able to use the power he inherited from Poseidon to further enhance his gorgon powers. This transformation replaces his lower half with a white snake tail, giving him the appearance of a true gorgon. While it is likely that he should lose access to Poseidon's power when using this form, Athos instead integrates it into his new self, forming snake and/or gorgon constructs out of water and earth, and even spreading his venom through them.
Godly Possessions
- Poseidon's Conch Shell: Athos' singular item passed down from his father through the representative who brought him to New Olympus. The conch shell is able to produce an infinite supply of water in the hands of one who has the power to manipulate it, but the water is incapable of being used to its full potential (healing abilities, etc.) if not in the hands of a child of Poseidon.
