Bakuzan (縛斬, Bound Decapitator) in its sealed form is a sword with a white hilt and sheath. Beyond this the guard seems to have two prongs pointing down towards the blade's length.
Shikai: Upon the utterance of its release command
"Gaisu" (害す, kill) the weapon transforms into a long single blade etched in blue runes with three large spikes on the end of the handle.
- Shikai Special Ability: Rengoku (鏈黒, Chain of Blackness) Setsuko's shadow towards the blade to form a long black chain, composed completely out of Setsuko's shadow. Due to its new form as a chain scythe, Setsuko is capable of throwing her weapon towards the opponent in the form of a long-range attack. Since the chain originates from her shadow, Setsuko can still control the trajectory of the blade, even if its thrown a great distance away. There is always a part the chain that encircles Setsuko wherever she is, giving her protection from assaults from all sides.
- Zetsuei (絶影, Severed Shadow) - A technique which utilizes Bakuzan's special ability, allowing Setsuko to stab through the shadows of other people using her weapon. Doing so causes injury to the person the shadow belongs to, in a direct reflection of how the shadow was hit. This allows a bit more flexibility in the attacks which Setsuko makes, giving her an even greater range of attacking.
