Dragon Slayer Magic: Dragon Slayer Magic is a type of Lost Magic which allows its users to transform their physical bodies into a Dragon. As a result, the user can transform their body with features of their respective element, utilizing both offensive and defensive styles. A Dragon Slayer is immune to the effects of their own element, and can consume external sources of their element to replenish their strength. However, a Dragon Slayer cannot consume the element that they produce themselves, and elements must be consumed through the mouth. It is known that certain Dragon Slayers have been able to consume elements other than their own, allowing them to combine both elements into one inside their bodies and use them to increase their abilities. Dragon Slayer Magic is the only way to kill, or even hurt Dragons, who are shown to be mostly unaffected by other forms of Magic. There are only two ways one can learn Dragon Slayer Magic. The first way is one must be taught by an actual Dragon. The ones who learned their Dragon Slayer Magic through this method are referred to as First Generation Dragon Slayers. The second way is one must have Dragon Lacrima implanted into their body. The ones who learned their Dragon Slayer Magic through this method are referred to as Second Generation Dragon Slayers. There is also another way which is a combination of the above two methods: ones who both learned their Dragon Slayer Magic by receiving the teachings of a Dragon and also having Lacrima implanted into their body. The ones who learned how perform Dragon Slayer Magic by utilizing both methods are referred to as Third Generation Dragon Slayers.
As a member of the Third Generation of Dragon Slayers, Ren learned his primary form of Magic through two means: by receiving the teachings of a Dragon named Skiadrum and by having Dragon Lacrima implanted into his body. He also had additional Dragon Lacrima implanted into his body, granting him Poison Dragon Slayer Magic as well.
Shadow Dragon Slayer: A Magic which allows the user to transform their physiology into that of a Shadow Dragon, turning their body into a shadow that cannot be touched by normal means. With this Magic, the user is also able to fade themselves into shadows to move swiftly, dodging efficiently and making surprise attacks. However, if the user is caught while in a tangible form, or by another person in shadow form, they are then vulnerable to attack. The shadows produced by Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic are able to be utilized in several different ways, allowing for a high level of adaptability; the shadows are able to be released in freeform, as condensed, or even molded into the shape of a weapon, taking on the properties of said chosen shape. Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic, as a form of Dragon Slayer Magic, allows its user to consume shadows to replenish their strength and develop resistance to it as well. If a Shadow Dragon Slayer is somehow capable of successfully ingesting light, they will enter White Shadow Dragon Mode.
Shadow Dragon's Roar (影竜の咆哮 Eiryū no Hōkō): The Shadow Dragon Slayer's exclusive Dragon's Roar, incorporating the element of shadow; the user quickly gathers and releases a large burst of shadows from their mouth.
Shadow Dragon's Slash (影竜の斬撃 Eiryū no Zangeki): The user covers their arm in shadows and then punches the target.[1] They can also divide their shadow into numerous thin tendrils to strike the target.
Shadow Dragon's Crushing Fang: The user lashes the opponent with their open hands cloaked in shadows.
Shadow Dragon's Waxwing Flash (影竜の連雀閃 Eiryū no Renjakusen): The user turns their body into shadows and then wraps themselves around the target, assaulting them with a torrent of feather-like shadows generated from their hands, becoming tangible once more.
Shadow Drive (シャドウドライブ Shadō Doraibu): The user cloaks their body in an aura of shadows, amplifying the powers of their Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic. When activated, the eyes of the user become obscured, leaving only their blank irises shown. The use of this spell also improves the user's overall physical performance, including their strength, speed, and endurance. Aside from improved performances, the user gains the ability to morph in and out of shadows, allowing for swift, intangible movement and an erratic fighting style.
Shadow Dragon's Vortex: The user extends their shadow in length, creating a large, swirling vortex-shaped shadow under the targets, which are then pulled down into the shadow without leaving a trace.
Shadow Dragon's Blade: The user forms their shadow into a sharp blade, surrounded by the shadows it was created from. The blade can be sent towards the target from a distance and acts like a normal blade would, piercing the target's body on contact.
Shadow Dragon's Eruption: The user forms a ball of shadows in their hand and throws it at the ground, where it bursts into a geyser of shadows that hits the target from underneath, throwing them into the air, whilst simultaneously damaging them.
White Shadow Dragon Mode (モード白影竜 Mōdo Hakueiryū): White Shadow Dragon Mode is an ability that can be gained by a Shadow Dragon Slayer after having eaten light. After having the light and shadows inside their body fuse together, the user gains the ability to use both elements simultaneously, even giving their shadows the piercing properties of light. After entering said Mode, half of the user's body becomes cloaked in shadows, whilst the other half remains normal in appearance.
Holy Shadow Dragon's Flash Fang (聖影竜閃牙 Seieiryū Senga): A Unison Raid combining the power of Light Dragon Slayer Magic and Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic. With a Light Dragon Slayer Magic user and Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic user, their powers can be combined together for a more powerful and destructive attack. By releasing a large amount of shadows and white light from their fists, the users merge their Magic and release it as a combined burst of the aforementioned light and shadows.
White Shadow Dragon's Rough Silk (白影竜の絁 Hakueiryū no Ashiginu): A White Shadow Dragon Mode Spell as well as a combination spell between White and Shadow Dragon Slayers. The user (or users) creates a multitude of very thin beams of light and shadows which pierce and slice their target, heavily damaging them.
Dragon Force (ドラゴンフォース Doragon Fōsu) Being a product of the Third Generation of Dragon Slayers, Ren is capable of entering the most powerful form of the Dragon Slayer at will, without the need to consume strong, external sources of Magic. Such a feat greatly surprises those who had intimate knowledge of Dragon Slayer Magic. When this state is activated, Ren's body becomes much more akin to an actual Shadow Dragon's, with his whole body becoming covered in an aura of shadows even thicker and darker than that provided by Shadow Drive, and with thick dark intricate scale-like patterns appearing to cover the outer edges of his face, underneath and around his eyes, extending down from the side of his neck and onto the rest of his body. These are shown to be more and more uniform as they get farther from the central portion of his body, which instead bear several scattered, distinct scales, elongated and placed diagonally
Poison Dragon Slayer Magic (毒の滅竜魔法 Doku no Metsuryū Mahō): A type of Magic which allows the user to incorporate the element of poison into their body, granting them exclusive traits possessed by a Poison Dragon. The user is capable of freely producing and manipulating poison, manifested in the form of a toxic gas. Said gas seems to be "tangible", and can thus be used as an effective blunt weapon, inflicting physical damage to foes while at the same time infecting them. The poison produced by Poison Dragon Slayer Magic starts off by slowly stealing the movement from the victims' body away, before subsequently killing them. Erik has enough faith in his Dragon Slayer abilities to claim that one touch from his Poison Dragon Slayer Magic will decay and utterly destroy everything in his path. Being a form of Dragon Slayer Magic, this Magic allows its user to consume external sources of its element, in this case, poison, to restore their body's health and regain strength. When Ren uses his Dragon Slayer abilities, his arms become clawed and scaly.
Poison Dragon's Roar (毒龍の咆哮 Dokuryū no Hōkō): The Poison Dragon Slayer's exclusive Dragon's Roar, incorporating the element of poison. The user quickly gathers and releases poison from their mouth in the form of deadly, poisonous stream that, when it makes contact with the target, injects a lethal virus into their body that slowly weakens them and restricts their movement before ultimately killing them.
Poison Dragon's Crushing Fang: The user attacks their target with poison-covered fingertips, from which a poisonous mist trails.
Poison Dragon's Twin Fang (毒龍双牙 Dokuryū Sōga): The user moves their arms forward in the shape of a cross, forming a very large amount of poison, in two massive waves, shaped like fangs, which are used to attack the target with sheer blunt force.
Magic Card (魔法の札, マジックカード, Majikku Kādo): Magic Card is a type of Holder Magic which revolves around the use of Magic Cards, which can produce a variety of effects, such as generating elements, and even seemingly living beings. Magic Card can be used for offense by employing the cards used for this Magic as long-range weapons by the user throwing them at their enemies. Users of this Magic can also combine their cards to generate particular effects. Aside from combat, Magic Card seems to possess other avenues for usage: users can apparently track down people to some degree through the cards' use. In addition, the cards can reproduce the effects from a variety of different forms of Magic, such as Water Magic or Sleep Magic, coming in as very versatile, if used the right way. These cards can also be linked to specific individuals, allowing the user to gain information about their status and location, as well as to communicate with them. Users of this Magic also have the ability to trap individuals inside their Magic Cards.
Call Card: A Magic Card bearing a stylized picture of a specific person, which will allow its bearer to communicate with said person.
Darkness Card: A Magic Card which steals and stores shadows. Ren uses these to have access to a food source at all times, no matter where he is.
Light Card: Much like the Darkness Card, this card contains a flash of blinding light. Ren can use this as support to temporarily hinder his opponent, but he uses it primarily as a food source for his teammate, Shiskikura Ran.
Trap Card: A Magic Card which sticks to whatever surface it is thrown against, and becomes invisible thereafter. When it comes into contact with another source of Magic Power, the trap within activates, taking a form previously inscribed by the user.
Monster Card: Ren's most powerful Magic Card is one that likens itself to Living Magic. The card summons a monster when used, though even Ren does not know the type and quality of the conjured monster will be when using the card.
Ran Card: When Shiskikura Ran is in danger, this card will shine. This card also has an arrow that points towards Ran's location.
Satan Soul (サタンソール Satan Sōru): A Caster Magic and a form of Take Over. This particular form of Magic allows the user to Take Over the powers and forms of different Demons. These forms give the user a variety of different abilities such as flight, enhanced speed, strength, reflexes etc.
Satan Soul: Lucius: Ren's singular Satan Soul form takes the appearance of a blue-eyed blond-haired man wearing a white bodysuit and a black overcoat. In this form, he has ten wings on his back, two on his head, and two at his neck. His left wings are demonic, featuring black, leathery wings, while his right side has white, feathery, angelic wings save for the wing at his neck, which is black. He also gains a purple tattoo on the left side of his face, and seems to be wearing red lipstick.
Darkness Magic (闇の魔法 Yami no Mahō): Darkness Magic is a type of Magic which allows users to manipulate and control destructive Dark Magic. This Magic has a physical form used for destroying objects, blocking enemies' attacks and picking up objects. The color of the Magic varies depending on the caster (red, purple, black, green, etc.). Ren's magic is the color red.
Dark Grab: The user move their hands towards the opponent, far away from them. This will prompt a pair of strong, dark-colored arms to appear from a nearby surface and grab the opponent, immobilizing or choking them according to the movements performed by the user, who, after grabbing the target, are seemingly capable of controlling the spell with a single hand.
Darkness Cage: The user creates a sphere of Darkness Magic in their hand in the form of ghosts that revolves around the center. The user then shoots it at the target, releasing several ghosts that wrap around the target, restraining its movement.
Ghost Fireworks: The user extends their arm forward and releases ghosts from a sphere of Darkness Magic gathered in their hand. The ghosts seem to be alive, as when they are cut, they bleed.
Soul Extinctor (ソウルイクスティクター Sōru Ikusutinkutā): The spell initiates as the user focuses their magical power into the space between their hands, the energy taking the form of a spherical vortex. When released, it is a large blast of dark energy that is capable of blocking out the sky.
Evil Explosion (エビル エクスプロージョン Ebiru Ekusupurōjon): The user holds their hands together and a dark colored sphere gathers on their palm. When fired, a powerful beam is expelled from the users hand.
