Among his acts of piracy, it is said he attained 42 ships from the Portugal fleet, and in addition to supplies like sugar and tobacco, he retrieved 40,000 Moidore gold coins and a golden cross studded with diamonds made for the Portuguese king. The result of his exploits has resulted in this variant of the Skill Golden Rule. Whatever he and his crew plunders to be shared equally will always equal a satisfactory amount to every crew member. Even while dividing the spoils in even amounts, the most desirous member of Bartholomew's fleet shall not be left wanting.
