Zankensoki Dojo

Recruits and Plus Souls, Welcome to the Zankensoki Dojo. (Pre-existing Vizard Welcome Back). Here you will learn the basics of Shinigami Combat and figure out where you specialize. Instructors will walk you through the most basic of the four Shinigami Combat Arts and while you are here what you excel at will determine how you specialize. Solo training in the four Shinigami Arts can also be completed here by older members to sharpen their skills. Each syllable of Zankensoki refers to a different area of Shinigami combat found almost invaluable to the various people who learn them.

Zan refers to sword techniques or Zanjutsu. The Zanjutsu training area of the dojo is found on the west wing of the building. It includes both an indoor facility complete with bokken and stationary training dummies. And an outdoor facility with moving targets and exposure to the weather.

Ken refers to unarmed fighting techniques or Hakuda. The Hakuda training facility is also an indoor and outdoor training space located on the east wing of the boot camp building. Inside plethora of hanging bags and weights are available for anyone from beginners to masters. The outdoor part of the facility contains moving targets which can be arranged in various battle situations for learning proper battle tactics and honing keen reflexes.

So refers to movement techniques or Hohou. Located on the southern part of the Zankensoki Dojo is the Hohou training facility. It is an indoor track complete with pop-up dummies to hone reflexes and give people targets to move around. The Outdoor portion of the training facility includes an even wider track and various technological tools to help with training including specialized GOLEMs that appear and disappear for Hohou specialists to use as training devices.

Ki refers to Kidou spells and application. The Kidou training facility is located in the main part of the Zankensoki Dojo on the northern wing. It includes two indoor spaces for the learning of Kidou one of which is a large practice room containing the spells and standard Kidou taught int he academy. The other is a large underground open area complete with false ceiling made to simulate the midday sun. Here one can find both moving and stationary targets for Kidou practice.

Each of these is a learned set of skills that must be expanded in order to progress them in your character profile. Below is a guideline for how learning skills will happen and how these skills will be applied to you. Along with a group of General Guidelines for usage of this thread.

Zankensoki Learning Guidelines
~ In order to have skill in any of the 4 Shinigami Arts you are required to write at least 300 words of training for them. (Inept skill class is not required to complete any training).
~Specialization in any skill will require progressive amounts of training at least 600 words for every classification of skill you gain.
~You must be able to prove that the skill you are increasing is the one you have trained for (linking back to the posts in which the skill as used). Specifically this means that you can not spend all your time using only Kidou as your main skill and then use left awarded experience in that area to increase Hakuda. You have to train your Hakuda separately to increase your skill in that area.
~Note that you will be awarded 320 experience points towards Missions for every 500 words of writing you do as training in any of the 4 Shinigami Arts. But the acquired skill point you take is to be applied directly to the skill you've actually trained. (This will be monitored by the Commander and Vice-Commander).
~After you have reached the highest level of mastery for a skill, if you wish to train just for applied perk points you may. But all training you do for that has to be in the skill you have the highest level of mastery for. As an example if you are a 5th seat who is a Kidou Master. You may continue training in Kidou to attain the skill points needed to convert into perk points so that you might take modified or custom Kidou perks. Or if you are a Zanjutsu specialist so that you might get the extra skill points to convert into a particular Zanjutsu skill.

Skill Changing Guidelines (Since skills are being earned in a very specific way the way we change skills will also have minor upgrades. Below are some things to keep in mind when switching a character from one set of skills to another.)
~If you wish to change the specialization of your character from one set of skills to another it will have to be done through RP. (If your character is a Zanjutsu Master and you want them to become a Kidou Master instead you can't simply move the points, and you will instead be required to prove training in Kidou and have your Zanjutsu skill decrease as your Kidou prowess increases).
~If you wish to give your character a brand new Zanpakuto you must restart with no skills in its use, and retrain each of its new abilities and new usage. Even if you had completely maxed out your skill with your previous weapon.
~Changes in mask will be considered an evolution of your hollow. And will require you to move back to basic mask control. Then you must train to move back up to advanced or perfect control.
~Developments are character specific. Just because you control multiple characters doesn't mean you get free reign over what skills they have without training and the same rules listed above will apply to them if they are meant to be long term characters. (Their skills must be trained and not just given.)

General Thread Use Guidelines:
~This is an ontopic RP thread all things done in this thread are to be done in character.
~This is a thread open to any Vizard but is required for use by Plus Souls and Recruits.
~If you have an instructor make sure you are following their directions. If you are solo RPing training make sure it's realistic. Training done that bends the rules of physics or common sense won't count towards your skill progress.
~This thread is being monitored by the Commander and Vice-Commander so be on your best behavior.
~All rules of the Hideout Apply (be sure you are following them).
