The shop is located in Tokyo, modern day, Japan. It is designed traditionally in contrast with the modern architecture of the contemporary buildings of the 21st century. The structure's distinguishing element, aside from its eccentric build, is a crescent moon insignia. However, this establishment can only be seen by spirits or those who seek the shop's aid. The house is protected by a spiritual barrier, which prevents beings from causing harm to the place. The shop is a shelter for many artifacts and it holds the records of and from every dimension known and unknown. One of the shop's main purpose is being the gate to the Vizard's Headquarters, Laputa. Though upon entering the portal, each individual will start to be monitored closely.

Aside from the owner of the shop, the residents of the place includes a pair of identical looking girls namely, Mai and Fai. They act as the owner's little helpers whenever a guest arrives in the shop. In other times, they are relaxing with her. They have no souls and are the main component of the shop's barriers. Therefore, they cannot leave the shop or they will cease to exist along with the barrier. Whenever the owner of the shop is not around, the Aristocrat of Evil takes her place in managing the shop. Either way, both shop keepers are eccentric enough in their own ways of managing the shop.

Imperceptible to the humans around him, a man wearing a hooded, white Captain's haori strode down an empty street in Tokyo. As he walked, Raizo Shinoda's silver eyes marveled at the sheer size of the city. The dimensions of the Japanese capital city were known to him from previous visits; but still, the sight always left him in awe. It was a well-managed place, he remarked. Traffic and rubbish were both kept at a minimum, the main disorder of the city being the massive number of pedestrians. Truly, the "Eastern Capital" was a testament to the prowess of humans.

Raizo's attention turned with his feet as he stepped off of the street and towards the front door of the shop. He had only been inside a few times, but the signature crescent moon insignia was still there. Its meaning was still a mystery to the Tenth Division Captain. Passing through the entrance, he waved hello at the two girls, Mai and Fai. Having seen him before, they waved back as Raizo entered the portal to Laputa.
