    1. Raizo is depressed
    2. He has continued his Tendo training to give himself a sense of peace
    3. It eventually allows him conscious control of his soul and its spiritrons as well.
    4. (This makes him extremely resistant to techniques like Sklaverei, which drain or otherwise take control of foreign spiritrons
    5. His spiritual training has given him an interest in the continuity of his being
    6. He begins to reaffirm his belief in balance, justice, and peace
    7. He realizes that he cannot last forever
    8. Furthermore, the persona will to maintain balance and protect the world will not last forever.
    9. This is something that cannot be safely passed from one person to the other in words.
    10. Words fail to give the true measure of the *feeling* of the importance of peace, justice, and balance.
    11. Raizo turns to his father's research into the digital encoding of memories for guidance
    12. Raizo realizes that with his newfound Tendo mastery, he can improve upon the research that Sajin put forth.
    13. This means that if he can properly organize his mental "self" into a form that can be encoded, he could pass it on to a successor
    14. However, he realizes that it is impossible to pass this on through, say, a retrovirus or synthetic bio-engineering
    15. This matter delves into the realm of the soul.
    16. Raizo needs to marshal his spiritrons in such a way that the critical essence of his soul will pass on.
    17. In effect, he is engineering the beginning of a cycle of reincarnation.
    18. Since his soul is what will be passing on, he needs to create a body.
    19. This body will involve Gigai and Konpaku technologies which Sajin researched
    20. Raizo can give it enhancements to make it more suited to its task
    21. He creates the body which will become his successor.
    22. However, they cannot reside in Soul Society as the head of the Shinoda.
    23. They need to be in a place where it can develop their powers and most importantly, live their life free of interference.
    24. This way, they can naturally learn their role and prepare for their journey.
    25. Raizo realizes his resources are few, for he needs a good teacher and a powerful protector for this person.
    26. Low on contacts outside of Soul Society, he contacts his former ally Shuren, Commander of the Visoreds.
    27. He makes a last request for Shuren to train Raizo's successor in the Shinigami arts and watch over her until she is ready to leave.
    28. Raizo then constructs the body, choosing to make it capable of advancing through puberty and growth at a faster rate.
    29. He modifies it using tissue samples from various animals and spiritual beings to make it highly resistant to damage.
    30. He also makes it a female to ensure it gets the full human experience that he as a male could not possibly have.

Slender and youthful, Nemu is a well-endowed woman with green eyes. Her black hair is pulled back into a long braid, with slightly parted bangs. Her uniform consists of a short black kimono, which extends to mid-thigh, with a white nagajuban underneath. The sleeves of her kimono are not as wide as those worn by most Shinigami, and the upper parts of the sleeves are puffed. She wears a traditional wide white obi, fastened with a red cord. On her left sleeve is her lieutenant's armband. She wears white gloves, which only cover the back of her hands and wrists, and a dark red choker.[3][4] As a child, Nemu had unkempt hair and wore a lab coat.[5]

    Personality
Because she was abused and mistreated in every possible way by her "father/creator", Mayuri, Nemu is a very shy, withdrawn, and introverted individual, preferring to stay silent in her captain's presence. Her expression is almost always melancholic, and it is rare to see her smile or show any real joy in her distinctive green eyes. Despite Mayuri's seeming lack of care for her existence, she is very loyal to him, willing to badly injure herself just to give him an advantage in battle.[6] Unlike her "father", however, she seems to have compassion for others, saving Uryū Ishida's life as thanks for not killing Mayuri.[7]

Being the daughter of Mayuri, they share several similar traits. One such trait is their food preference. Nemu, just like her father, likes pike fish and dislikes onion. They share an interest in Human experimentation and their main free-time activity, which is reading every single character published in Seireitei Communication.

Nemu is being considered to be the next vice-president of the Shinigami Women's Association, supposedly because she carries out President Yachiru Kusajishi's orders just as faithfully as those of her father. Such orders included building hidden tunnels and a hideout on the Kuchiki grounds for the members of the association to use. Surprisingly, Nemu shows great joy at the prospect, displaying otherwise repressed emotions.

    History
Nemu is the artificially created "daughter" of Mayuri Kurotsuchi. He used a combination of Gigai and Gikon technologies to bring her into existence.[1]

    Equipment
    Bleachtenantspc549fi7.jpg
Nemu holding her sword in her right hand.
Sword: Nemu has a sword that takes the form of what appears to be a thin katana with a green hilt and a seemingly warped guard.[56] However, she does not usually have it on her person and has yet to use it in combat.

    Powers & Abilities
Bio-Augmentation: Nemu's biological structure has been artificially augmented; as the product of Gikon and Gigai technologies, she possess various modifications and enhancements. These advancements have made her a highly adaptable and durable combatant.

Enhanced Endurance: Her body was designed by Mayuri to have much more endurance than that of a normal person. She can take wounds which would be fatal to another person and survive, as she demonstrated upon being stabbed by Mayuri during his fight with Uryū.[57] Mayuri himself noted she was designed to take much more punishment than any normal Human or Shinigami could ever sustain.[58]
Enhanced Strength: Nemu has a substantial amount of strength, even by Shinigami standards. She effortlessly excavates Szayelaporro's hidden laboratory using only her bare hands. She can throw large blocks of stone with ease.[59] She can effortlessly lift a large column over her head.[60]
Enhanced Speed: Nemu can move at high speeds, which she demonstrated when attacking Uryū Ishida to determine whether he still possessed his Quincy powers.[61] When Bambietta Basterbine launched bombs at her and Mayuri, Nemu quickly grabbed Mayuri and moved him outside the range of the explosion without either of them being harmed in the process.[62] Her speed and reaction time are great enough that she can intercept a Heilig Pfeil mid-flight by catching it with one hand.[63][64]
Poison Immunity: Nemu has the same blood as Mayuri, making her immune to the poison used by Mayuri's Bankai.[65]
Chemical Repository: Mayuri always keep a variety of drugs stored away inside Nemu's body; as such, if an enemy consumes her or invades her body, they receive a dosage of one of these drugs, which changes depending on the part of the body they come into contact with.[66]
Healing Factor: When Nemu is in a deathlike state, Mayuri can revive her using her body modifications.[67]
Involuntary Cell Division Accelerator Failsafe: In order for Nemu to exceed the threshold of the normal lifespan of her regenerative Konpaku cells, an Involuntary Cell Division Accelerator (強制細胞分裂加速器, Kyōsei Saibō Bunretsu Kasokuki) was embedded within her pituitary gland. Failsafes were placed into the special organ to exceed its normal function. If the base core of the cerebrum is ejected, the organ can create a direct connection with the parietal lobe and seize control of the body. If one consumes the organ on its own without the cerebrum, they would experience accelerated regeneration and eventually self-destruct from regenerating too much.[68]
Tedoriru (手ドリル, Hand Drill): She can twirl her hand and forearm like a drill and move her arms at excessive speeds. This technique is capable of breaking through solid rock.[69]
Power Enhancement: Nemu can forcibly draw out greater levels of power by pushing the activity of her body closer to the threshold at which it would begin to collapse, though she can only maintain this heightened level of power for a short period of time. She has pushed her system to within 0.8% of its threshold, which she could only maintain for roughly 6 minutes after activation.[70]
    642Pernida is destroyed
    Nemu tears through Pernida.
Superhuman Strength: While within 0.8% of her body's limits, Nemu possesses tremendous physical strength; the strength she possess in her legs alone allows her to leap to great heights at incredible speeds with enough force to shatter the ground beneath her and blast apart organic matter in her way.[71]
Konpaku Sessaku (魂魄切削, Soul Cutting; Viz "Soul Slicer"): Nemu can cut off portions of her soul and use them to attack her opponent as an spiritual energy blast.[72]
Gikon Jūrinjū (義魂重輪銃, Artificial Soul Heavy Circle Cannon): Sacrificing 6% of her soul, Nemu fires it at her target in the form of a ball of spiritual energy, which blows a clean hole in the target by warping their body around itself.[73]
Hand-to-Hand Combat Expert: As Nemu normally does not carry her sword, she relies on her hand-to-hand combat skill in battle. She is a very swift attacker when fighting, and commonly employs kicks as her main combat skill.[61] She defeated her Reigai with one strike to the chest, showing she can defeat enemies quickly by targeting a weak point.[33]

High Spiritual Power: Being a lieutenant of the Gotei 13, Nemu boasts a high spiritual energy.

"You could have killed me... but you didn't."

Oscurra's voice cracked slightly as she sat on the bed of her cell. Seated across from her on a wooden armchair was Raizo. Two years ago the Shinigami would have stood up, but he had started so frequently visiting that a natural need for comfort had manifested itself in the oaken piece of furniture. Apart from it, the utilities, and the bed, everything was made of solid Sekkiseki stone. Raizo had upgraded the Arrancar's sleeping furnishings from a narrow cot to a soft bed with fine sheets. Of course, that was no trouble to a man like Raizo, a Seireitei nobleman, to acquire.

These were fine things for Oscurra to be given by Raizo. After all, she had killed his pregnant wife. But Raizo's belief in the inherent potential for good of every soul was a powerful one. He couldn't quite bring himself to be unnecessarily unkind to her anymore. Over the past year, the two had developed a more friendly rapport. Raizo remembered the few times they had taken short trips to the surface, emerging from the secure bunker the Shinigami had built below his father's safehouse at the Namikaze family farm. He had been clear - Oscurra was going to be restrained - but they were able to stay up for a few hours each day before her reiatsu could rise to a level strong enough to break free.

The man's face revealed none of this as he softly replied. His hands closed the book he had been reading to the Arrancar and set it down on his lap.

"It was the right thing to do, Oscurra."

Rising from his seat, he turned to the door to leave. As he took his palm off of the biometric security scanner, Oscurra ran across the cell - and embraced him. He stiffened in surprise. Though Raizo wasn't afraid of Oscurra anymore, he hadn't expected this. The Captain turned his face towards her, and Oscurra's purple and gold-flecked eyes stared up at his bright silver ones.

"Not everyone does the right thing, Raizo."

In the main level of the Namikaze complex, Raizo sat at his workstation surveying his notes. Between sips of green tea, he neatly added to his ideas. The sheets of paper before him documented an idea he had been nursing ever since Asami had died. An idea that transcended life and death and blurred the line between gods and men. An observer might have caught an idea of what he was thinking if they watched from over his shoulder:

"optimum tissue samples... crocodile strength versus rhinoceros flexibility..."

    "a continuous cycle... memory recall..."

"a method is needed... transferring quantum data..."

A gentle notification sound began bleeping from the digital clock at the back of the desk. Setting his pen and teacup down, the Shinigami reached across the desk and turned the alarm off. It was time for him to meditate. "Time certainly flies..." Raizo remarked to himself as he rose from his chair. He hadn't even noticed the sun setting, so deep in thought he had been. He shed his Assasin's robe and stepped from the work area down to the center of the building's main room. It was sunken about a foot into the floor and covered with a simple red tatami mat. Unlike most Shinigami, Raizo wore combat boots - moreover, he wore them inside of his home. As he removed the boots, he chuckled at his memories of reactions from other Shinigami at his unusual practices. The Captain simply could help it. He was a soldier and a utilitarian to the bone. As long as he could, the Shinoda would always be as ready for combat as possible. 'Twas not his style to send his soldiers into the thick of battle without preceding them into the fray. Indeed, Raizo was one of the few Captains who frequently delegated the administrative duties of his Division to others, preferring to remain deployed in the field as often as possible. Apart from his personal enjoyment, it had given him the chance to train more of his inexperienced officers.

These thoughts faded from his mind as he sat down and folded his legs. Placing his open palms on his knees, the Shinigami closed his silver eyes and breathed in deeply.

In Raizo's mind, a vision began to come into view. A bright light, caged in a lamp of black steel. The metal began to glow red... and melted away. The light within was revealed to be a floating flame, simply hovering in mid-air. Unattached to a candle, it began to roil and churn as the old steel twisted into a new lamp, elegantly constructed of burnished silver steel. Transforming into the form of a phoenix, that immortal bird of myth, the light shot up into the air above the new lamp, before plummeting like a meteor from the heavens into its new host.

Raizo opened his eyes. This was what his great labor was to be. The white phoenix of the soul, no longer bound by the fetters of form. It was the deepest essence of a soul, that thing that dwelt within all Shinigami at their core. But how would he free his soul from the spiritrons that formed its body? Raizo pondered this question pensively, focus etched into the worn features of his face as he stroked his beard. It was strangely appropriate, Raizo thought, that he had thought of this matter of freeing the spirit as his life began to enter its own twilight - the new streaks of gray that had begun to grow on his face were evidence of that.

"In order to free the spirit, I would have to wrench my mind out of my brain."

And what was the mind? A person was composed of memories and data, information compiled over an infinite number of moments that was processed and revisited over the years of a life. Wait... data. That was it! That was it.

"Sajin was ahead of his time."

It was his adopted father's genius that Raizo was remarking upon. The Shinigami, Tetsuya Sajin, had discovered a way to encode his memories into the form of computerized data. A rudimentary form of a digital soul, Raizo now realized it offered him the blueprint for his idea. Electromagnetic reiatsu was the key. Perhaps, Raizo mused, his project was pre-ordained. After all, who else would have made the mental connection he had? With a superhuman leap, Raizo soared from his meditation area back to his workstation. His bare feet clapping on the cold steel floor, the Shinigami clambered into his seat and began to sketch a rough diagram furiously.

For months, Raizo's mind had been mulling over the reality of his wife Asami's death. She and their unborn children had perished, sentencing Raizo to that terrible pain of having loved and lost. However, Raizo was not just a soldier but an intellectual man as well. His logical mind had pointed out that he should let go of the sorrow over his losses. After all, that death would have been inevitable. That was the self-evident nature of the cycle of souls - birth and rebirth between Soul Society and the Gense for all eternity. Even Raizo would one day die. How could a soul escape that wretched torment of simply being a cog in a wheel, an ever-moving part of the great machine of the universe, driven and conducted by the Reiou? Only the Soul King was constant. He remained the same throughout the millennia.

In thinking of that, Raizo had stumbled upon a revolutionary concept. If the core essence of a soul's consciousness and memory could be preserved and passed on throughout the cycle, it was possible that a near-perfect being could be created - a true immortal, in essence. The Soul King kept his form and memory. This new being's form would change over time, but that form, that body, would serve as an Avatar for the soul and memories of the same being for the rest of time.

That was the issue, however. How could one transfer their soul and memories intact, unbound by spiritrons?

His meditation had revealed the answer to him. The memory was bound in the physical form of neural synapses. Tetsuya had turned it into quantum digital data in a computer. The synapses were now circuits and bytes of data. Raizo simply had to turn memory data into a reiatsu form. A form that would encode the quantum data into electronic signals. The Shinigami ran his fingertips across the saya of his Zanpakuto. The electromagnetic reiatsu abilities of the weapon had forced the Shinigami to become knowledgeable in the nature of energy wavelengths and frequencies. Through the years, Raizo had been able to use this knowledge and his Zanpakuto's reiatsu to engineer anti-Kido techniques. Kido masters would note that this was impressive, given Raizo's relatively complete lack of competence in Kido.

However, it had also given him an insight. He could encode mental signals into his reiatsu - this was the foundation for his Shikai ability, Seichi. Now, Raizo had the opportunity to use this knowledge in combination with the capabilities of Tendo. Practicing his Tendo in meditation had allowed Raizo to physically suppress the overwhelming neuro-chemical signals that constituted depression and despair. It had also given him a self-awareness of his own mind and how it appeared while at work.

Therein was the answer, Raizo wrote at the bottom of his notes. He would use Tendo to create the white phoenix of his vision - and reincarnate into the Avatar of a new being. A being that was still Raizo. A being that was also Sajin. A being that was, in the end, someone new altogether.

What Raizo had created was nothing short of art. At least in his view, he thought. It was odd to think that he had done with with tomes on arcane arts and natural sciences alike, stacked high on the desk surface in front of him. There had been no greater achievement than this in the short lineage of the Shinoda. The great Twelfth Division Captain, Kurotsuchi Mayuri, would envy the Tenth Division Captain's results. Modestly speaking it was a work built on the foundation that Kurotsuchi had begun; but, it was still a tremendous advance in and of itself. This was revolutionary. Should the Central Chambers Forty-Six ever find out, Raizo would surely be executed.

"I suppose that part doesn't matter... they wouldn't be killing me..."

... Raizo mused to himself. However, such thoughts were unproductive at this point. Now, Raizo had to turn to the next part of his labor. Standing up in the dimly lit workshop under the Namikaze farm, he walked from behind his desk and made his way back to the table which supported a large pod. Inside, suspended in a fluid that was illuminated by internal lightbulbs pulsing a gentle shade of green, was the body Raizo had dubbed the "Avatar." The name was fanciful, but it accurately described the future of this body. Gazing at it one last time, Raizo bent down and kissed its forehead. Though he was the only one around who could listen, Raizo whispered, as if he was afraid a ghost might steal his words and cast them to the winds of Soul Society.

    Spoiler:

"Your life will not be easy, and I am sorry if I could have done more. But I am putting you in the best hands I know, the best promise for a future I can provide. You will be a light to Soul Society, a hope for a more righteous Seireitei. No matter how you forge your path, know that I am with you always."

With that, Raizo slid the pod cover forward. After a few centimeters, a delayed automatic motor quietly did the rest of the work, sealing the pod closed with a pneumatic hiss. As the pod beeped, indicating that it was secure, Raizo pushed four buttons, two on each side of the pod. As he did, four levitation boosters under the genesis pod powered up. While the genesis pod could have used digital controls and only one booster, it had been built to Raizo's specifications. While he did prefer a utilitarian, minimalist design in his machinery, Raizo was a believer in manual controls and redundant systems. Such features, in his soldier's opinion, made a machine more robust and resistant to outside tampering and assault. As the genesis pod began to float above the machining table, Raizo walked towards the gleaming black motorbike parked in front of it.

    Spoiler:

Tetsuya Sajin had called it the Fenrir, after the great wolf of Norse legend. It certainly was a beast of a vehicle. Raizo had never ridden it without Sajin before, but he still knew enough about the bike to access the compartments and get it running smoothly. He retrieved a magnetic towing cable from a storage rack and affixed it to the tail end of the Fenrir. Stretching it out, Raizo firmly attached it to a custom-made attachment point on the genesis pod. Giving both ends a solid tug, he nodded in satisfaction that neither end would come loose.

"Is it time yet? I want to break in this armor, Raizo."

Turning to face the woman behind him, the Shinigami rolled his eyes in mock annoyance as he hit the button that would raise the room, mounted on a massive elevator, from the depths of the earth to the surface. He had decided to free Oscurra, knowing that his own days were numbered. He needed someone to help him, someone who woul know how to guard his creation and protect the legacy that it represented. He had plans for it if the Visored Shuren accepted his request. But Oscurra was his insurance policy. Oscurra, despite being an Arrancar (if that was even what she was, at this point) could be trusted to not betray Raizo. She owed him her life, and the Shinigami knew she would repay that debt with the rest of that life. For that reason, Oscurra had been told of the nature of what the genesis pod contained. Once she understood, Oscurra had immediately sworn her fealty to the mission that Raizo had not even needed to speak for her to know. To that end, Raizo had crafted a suit for her to replace her old garments. While liberating for the body, Oscurra and Raizo had both agreed that they were not practical. Raizo's soldier taste had rubbed off on the petite brunette, and now she wore a more intimidating armored outfit, reminiscent of the fabled Amazons of Greek myth. Raizo motioned for the woman to mount the Fenrir.

"Take her to the Gense. The coordinates will be in the bike's positioning system, so engage the autopilot if the directions become too confusing. Once I return..."

At the pause in Raizo's words, Oscurra stepped forward quickly and hugged Raizo. Her small size belied the strength of her embrace. Raizo sighed, knowing how the woman was feeling as he returned the gesture. He could not help but feel a similar melancholy. However, what was coming next was what he had been born to do, he was sure of it. It was time to meet destiny. Slowly letting her go, Raizo finished his sentence.

"... we'll know what to do next."

The elevator softly growled to a halt, having finally reached the surface. A large armored door groaned as powerful motors pulled it open. Raizo turned towards it, then turned back to Oscurra and handed her a small grey remote.

    "Remember to detonate the charges."

With that, Raizo's form faded with a sudden crack. His Shunpo had moved him far away, moving at several kilometers a minute towards the Seireitei, where the Senkaimon would take him to Karakura-cho - and beyond it, to Kumori Shuren, the Commander of the Masked Army of Visoreds.

The Fenrir roared to life as Oscurra mounted it. In front of the armored door, a Garganta yawned. And as Oscurra, the Fenrir, and the genesis pod disappeared into its depths, the Namikaze farm and the subterranean safe house below its floorboards began to crumble and melt. By the time the portal to Hueco Mundo had closed, the area was a put of fire. By the time Oscurra had emerged from a second Garganta into the mountains around Karakura, there was nothing but a massive crater of ashen destruction to indicate what had once existed there. The secrets of Tetsuya Sajin, Namikaze Minato, and Raizo Shinoda had departed Soul Society. Should they ever return... the earth would shake to its core.
