The place where many of the houses are set up, Kyoto unlike most cities, seems to favor leaving lush greenery and building settlements into smaller more effecient spaces. There are many houses which line the streets owned and rented by various types of people who wish to escape the hustle of city life while maintaining a closer relationship with nature. Over 100,000 people live in this rather densely populated slice of nature. One of its major attractions being a temple hidden beyond the confines of the district itself. Said temple is said to be thousands of years old and is often visited by many of those who come through the area.
