Physical Description:
Rhaegar is a young man that stands at 1.85 meters and has a muscular body. He has the signature fair, pale skin and silver-white hair of his house. His hair is messy and unkempt and reaches to his jawbone. The bangs are pulled back in the middle, uncovering his forehead. His eyes are a rare, striking tone of yellow and his facial features are well defined. He wears the royal clothes of his house, those being a long sleeved dark grey tunic, black pants, brown boots and a belt. These are occasionally accompanied with a black jacket, overcoat or cape, depending on the situation. His tunic and jacket bears a dragon symbol on its left shoulder. While it reminisces his house’s symbol, it’s actually unique to him.

Personality:
Rhaegar is known for his stoic, extremely intelligent, and calculating demeanor, but also his cold, manipulative, and often unfettered attitude. The only being he held any sentiment towards after the demise of his house was his dragon Daerion. He lacks, or at least overtly lacks, a sadistic and bloodthirsty nature as long as it’s unnecessary. Rhaegar is intelligent enough to weigh political reality against a desire for personal, petty revenge, even when he is tempted to do so. Despite his ruthless and calculating nature, Rhaegar is shown to have a good side if he is impressed with someone, demonstrated when he treats them with respect and kindness, or speaks openly. Even though he has a kinder side, Rhaegar has buried them under layers of cruelty, immorality and violence over the years. Having lost everything he could have, as he says, he has become a bitter person. Despite these qualities he is very intelligent and assertive; he knows how to act in different situations to turn the tides in his favor. He has also been shown to be quite manipulative, to the extent that he can trick people by showing off a fake personality, at times one that is completely opposite to his own. Rhaegar also changes his level of ruthlessness depending on his subject.

Rhaegar, as a result of his character, commands respect. He thinks power comes from showing people that he has it, and not telling them about it. This is partly why he refrains from mentioning being the true heir to the Iron Throne. He likes entering conversations with an explosion; he goes from silent to loud instantly, getting the attention focused on himself. Once he has startled his target or gathered the attention, he goes back to being more silent and speaks normally. Though even then the interaction continues with the same intensity, since his subjects never know when he is going to switch. He is very comfortable with silence, even using it after somebody says or does something to provoke him, often making said person regret his action. Once he makes eye contact, he doesn’t look away or flinch. He tends not to ask people what he wants them to do, but rather tells them what they are going to do. He manipulates situations and takes people he interacts with out of a confident state, like by making them wait for him before he speaks to them or invading their personal space to make them uncomfortable.

Background:
Unlike what many would expect, Rhaegar had a pretty strict childhood. Like his brothers and sisters, he started his training in the arts of war as well as other areas at a fairly young age. When he was 7 years old, a rebellion started. Eventually his father, the king, was overthrown and his family was slaughtered. Tricking everyone into his death by placing a fake corpse about his size, Rhaegar escaped to Dragonstone with Daerion and Carmithrax. A year later one of his family’s most trusted knights, Ser Aegon Blackfyre, came to Dragonstone to offer his services. He informed Rhaegar that Dragonstone was declared off-the-limits to ensure it didn’t spark a new rebellion by the followers of the Targaryen dynasty. Knowing he could benefit from experiences, Rhaegar trained with the old knight until he died when he was 20. From there on he started to plan his return to King’s Landing to claim the throne that is his birthright.

Skills:
  • Alchemy: Rhaegar is a trained alchemist and can use his knowledge to brew potions or create other substances, even Wildfire.
  • Archery: Rhaegar isn’t very skilled when using a bow and arrow. This is due to the fact that he neglected his archery lessons as a child after bonding with his dragon, Daerion, believing it to be a far better ranged threat than a mere bow and arrow.
  • Dragon Tamer: Rhaegar is the only person in history to fully tame a dragon. He has trained his dragon Daerion throughout his childhood and taught him to direct his anger on anywhere but him.
  • Swordsmanship: Rhaegar is an excellent swordsman and fighter. Having been trained in the art, there isn’t many who can hold himself up against him on the battleground.

Weapon(s):
Sting is Rhaegar’s Valyrian steel sword. It has a simple yet elegant design, consisting of a dark gray handle with a ring in the middle, a scent-topper pommel and a slightly curved guard.
